I welcome two ladies with delicious names today. Oona is a highly spirited trilingual kid  filled with curiosity. Asking Surya, auhtor of  weegallery.com about her daughter Anya’s personality, she gave me a very simple answer : “Anya has loved and drawn pigs ever since she could hold a pencil!”. A happy day to pigs !

Erin Allan contacted me about Toto Knits, the brand of ethically made knitwear for children that she founded in Nairobi. A good occasion to discover how it is to live in the capital of Kenya. I learned that Nina loves art- especially drawing and recycled/found crafts and that Tor professes to love snakes but jumps a mile whenever he sees one (“which is as we want it with many deadly species found locally in Kenya” adds Erin).

Honore is the youngest boy ever interviewed on Pirouette, but  the little 19 months old is already very opinionated. Obsessed with cars (toys AND real ones) and anything with wheels, he’s always ready for big fun like having his head upside down or running super fast and kicking the ball. Today we welcome Isobel, 5 years old and her mother Lindsey,  journalist and founder of Urban Mums. Lindsey reports : “Izzy loves listening to music and dancing, especially “streetdancing” which she can’t believe she learned on her own. She is not a fan of wearing jeans, preferring dresses and leggings instead.  Izzy enjoys drawing pictures of rapunzel, mermaids and unicorns. And she also loves chocolate brownies, and chocolate gelato from Gelato Mio”. 

Twin brothers Marcel and Fabian recently moved to Dubai with their parents. Before that the family lived in Oslo and in Ethiopia. Marcel (a real charmer who loves to meet people) is into football. Fabian, on his side, plays tennis but also loves school, singing, dancing to his favourite music. Kari Thomassen their mother is the designer and founder of childrenswear brand myCinnamonGirl.

Do you remember what your dreams were when you were 10 years old?  Lulu has a timeless passion for horses but she is also a kid of her times, dreaming of visiting New York and wishing to have her own  laptop. Alison Spence her mother is the designer and founder of new girl’s brand called Original Sister, offering “plainer (but not plain) well-considered, easy-to-wear, premium quality and stylish basics”. The brand was featured last Sunday in The Telegraph (read the article here).

With two parents being bloggers, Clara is very tuned in to taking in the world around her. She loves going out to eat, watching cooking shows (Mad Hungry Food, Jacques Pepin, and Gordon Ramsay being her favorites), and traveling, as long as a swimming pool is involved. Yolanda her mother is an editor at large at Martha Stewart Living, co-founder of the wonderful blog Momfilter, and author of Travels with Clara.

Mika is a creative and sensitive little soul. She is always making presents to give away as she just enjoys expressing herself to others and seeing her recipient’s surprised smile. She sings and plays piano constantly but she is known for playing her drum-set which she’s been doing for 2 years now.
