Cartagena is a fun destination with kids. The ancient city, surrounded by walls, was declared Unesco
World Heritage Site in 1984. Way back in time, the Spanish used Cartagena to store the gold they stole from the Incas. The fortifications were built to protect it from pirates and corsairs (French and English privateers licensed by their king).

Pictures taken at La Bastide de Richeaume, a lovely B&B with tons of charm at very friendly price. Breakfast is served in the garden under a tree, with homemade jams, fruits, delicious bread and viennoiseries. Highly recommended!
