Iris, 6 years old – London, UK

Florence Rolando Iris Viesulas

With a child like Iris at home, we feel we don’t need to go to the theatre or to the circus anymore. She’s a real entertainer and a comic, and we laugh for a whole evening when she starts a show. But her true passion is drawing and she can spend hours with a pencil in hand. It feels very strange to me, the usual interviewer to be part of the game…But it’s fun! Florence/Pirouette

Iris

What do you want to be when you grow up An actress

Someone you admire? Giselle from Enchanted

What is your big dream? I would like to live in a vegetable shop

Are you scared of anything? Spiders because they look creepy

What makes you laugh Tickles and Boo Who jokes

Your favourite films and books Movie : Funny Face with Audrey Hepburn – Book : Madeline

Something you did recently that you really loved I went on a trampoline at my friends Vita and Echo. It was lots of fun.

The best holidays you ever had In South America because I did lots of horse riding and there were many swimming pools

A place that you dream to visit Jamaica because Jackie (the school assistant) lived there

Your favorite belonging A dog called Bruno

The next item you would so dearly love to get A Tamagochi

If you had a magic wand, what would you do with it right now? I would turn my house into a palace with magical unicorns

Florence

A place you saw when you were a child, and that made its mark on you? My grand mother’s house in Geneva really stayed with me. Books and books everywhere on shelves, drawings and paintings on the walls, the workshop with large pieces of white Carrara marble, sculptures and sculptor’s tools. But what really marked me is the smell, a mix of cedar wood and essential oils. My grandma (a painter), was a vegetarian and a militant for the protection of the environment. She was waking up every morning at dawn to practice yoga; It was feeling rather strange to me at that time.

The place you love near your home The Wellcome Collection

Where do you dream to go for your next family holiday I’d love to take a train or drive a van from Montreal to Vancouver.

A film that you saw recently and that staid with you? Dogtooth

The film that you love to see with the whole family? The Gods Must Be Crazy

The book on your bedside table I just finished “Ibiza mon Amour”, an inquiry on the industrialisation of pleasure by French philosopher Yves Michaud, and I am starting “Nurtured by Love – The classic approach to talent education” by Shinichi Suzuki. Two very different books!

The children’s brands your cherish I won’t start a list as there are too many great brands to name, but I particularly love all the Belgium brands for their colours and for the quality of their knits.

The children’s stores you love to visit and buy from In New York : Sweet William, in LA : Lost and Found, in Barcelona : 248 – Nobodinoz,  in Brussels : Boucle d’Or – Claude Hontoir, in Paris : Bonton, in London : Kidsen – Etoile – Caramel Baby&Child

Last thing you bought for your child Maan print dresses that I got  on sale at  Petit Aime. Simply gorgeous…

Favourite pieces in your child’s wardrobe The red dress that Iris wears on the picture (Cos), and the Dagmar Daley dresses that the girls have outgrown. They decorate their bedroom walls now. We can’t get rid of them.

What do you buy online? Books, Dvds, food. I can’t buy clothes really a part from basics because I have to touch and feel.

A website that inspires you Mubi. I am addicted to indie/artsy movies and to documentaries. Mubi is my bible

Something that made you laugh out loudly recently? The movie “Get him to the Greek”. Ridiculously fun
