Inspired by the Tehuelches, the indigenous people of Patagonia, Pamela Greene creates a wonderful collection of dolls, all made out of local material, mainly guanaco (lama) fur. These dolls are the most extraordinary handcrafted pieces that I have seen along the trip to South America. So well made, so representative of the past, yet so modern. Pamela gave me a precious lesson of history, explaining the living and dressing habits of the Tehuelches, pre and post Spanish invasion. I hope that Pamela (a real artist) will get over her tech phobia and will soon create her website, for everyone to have access to her stories and dolls.
