While in my third trimester of pregnancy, I start thinking seriously about nursery inspirations. Thanks to Pinterest you can find a lot of great ideas and define better what you want or most importantly what you do not want. In my case, I keep getting back to pictures from the design team Sissy and Marley.

I absolutely love their modern, bright and chic design and the fact that they think about having existing décor co-exist with children décor. Having kids does not mean anymore that you have to sacrifice your style! There are so many amazing options out there and somehow Sissy and Marley always manage to find the best ones.

I adore their design aesthetic, the soft and soothing color palette they use, all the little details they add to make each room unique, like one-of-a-kind toys, original prints, eye catching wall papers… Their rooms look always calm and cozy, modern and whimsical, stylish yet comfortable. They never look like a “cookie cutter” picked from a magazine.

I particularly appreciate that even though the rooms they create are always amazingly beautiful, they are also playful and functional. You can envision your little one play, laugh and learn in it but you can also envision yourself enjoying it. There is always smart storage solutions, room to move around, a comfy yet elegant chair to sit in…

I also like the fact that their vision doesn’t stop at the baby phase. They want to create inspired spaces that will grow with your child and most of the pieces of furniture or décor they use will let you do just that.

Not living in NY and not able to benefit from their full-service package? No problem! They have recently teamed up with talented designer Jill Malek on a playful yet sophisticated line of modern children’s wallpapers. I am totally obsessed with Sissy and Marley for Jill Malek

Furthermore, they offer the “virtually chic” option, for the do-it-yourself client in which they will design a dreamy room for you and drop it directly in your inbox with a resource list, design notes and floor plans!

And you can always get inspired by the pictures of the rooms they are creating on their blog… As far as I am concerned, I can’t get enough! Happy decorating!
