What if I would do something I´ve never done before? What if I were someone else? Just for one day? ? Questions the Hilda.Henri team seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed playing with when creating their ss17 collection titled ‘Just for one day’ inspired by David Bowie. This is the 7th collection for the Austrian label with denim making it’s first appearance in a subtle nod to the seventies. Noted for their use of traditional cloth Hilda.Henri lighten the collection for SS17 with natural linen and delicate lace. Geometric playful prints punctuate through the collection. Hilda.Henri SS17
It’s exciting times for Hilda.Henri having been awarded the Milk Japon Award at Playtime Tokyo for their Aw17 collection, let’s see what they have to say about their SS17 collection
For this Spring/Summer collection we´ve let ourselves be seduced by David Bowie and his never-ending pleasure in transformation. While listening to his music in our atelier we got invited to play: with patterns, colors and strong contrasts. We felt animated to draw our own interpretation of the “flying to the stars“-theme or to create a special skirt allowing kids to rotate their favorite “pattern of the day” towards themselves. Last but not least it`s been a fantastic conclusion staying in a hotel nearby Bowie`s apartment in NY when launching SS17 – hanging around at Washington Square in the evenings, having breakfast in his favorite Italian cafe etc. To make a long story short: we had a really good time while having this great artist in mind!
