Show Report: Playtime Paris #24 SS19

July 9, 2018
Bobo choses - Playtime Paris #24 show report

The 24th edition of Playtime Paris was an expansive show with a large range of new and existing brands to try and see. Whilst the show was jam packed with some great collections it was also incredibly hot! Playtime Paris #24 saw an increase in super stands, super strong lifestyle sections and quality marketing gestures making for super brand awareness.

For this report we look at the Coming to America seminar, the balance between a no picture policy and immediacy of collection awareness, plus we share some Pirouette #CoupDeCoeur from the show.

Breaking News: Bubble London trade show closes…

April 19, 2018
Childrenswear Trade show Bubble London closes

UK based children fashion and lifestyle trade show Bubble London owned by ITE has decided to discontinue. The show which is still currently advertised as taking place on 15-16 July has been cancelled. Exhibitors were informed of the decision yesterday, whilst a representative from Bubble London confirmed with us this morning their decision to permanatly close the trade show.

It seems it probably just comes down to visitor numbers which given that they reported a 6% rise in visitors for SS17 must be disappointing.

It is currently unclear if CWB the children’s trade publication also owned by ITE will continue.

ITE’s decision to close Bubble London follows shortly after the trade shows Market by Kleine fabriek in Amsterdam and Kid in Paris also decided to discontinue.

Store Profile: Cherrypapaya + video interview with founder Sandra Barradas

February 26, 2018
Cherrypapaya in Portugal

Independents opening their own flagship store seems to be something we are seeing with labels of late. This is not to say they are moving away from wholesale but rather creating a central base to project their brand identity. Also compared with wholesale and online it’s a way to connect with the end consumer, engage, and even test the water with your new product ideas. If you experience what is selling in your own store first hand you can adapt future collections with relevant knowledge of the end consumer in mind.

In this store profile feature we first take a look at Cherrypapaya’s new flagship store in Porto, then we talk with founder Sandra Barradas during Pitti Bimbo 86 about the label…….

Trade Show Report: Creative Playtime New York SS18

September 5, 2017
Creative Playtime New York SS18 Press corner Aurelie Andres

It’s no secret that we are big fans of the New York edition of Playtime. Playtime New York 15th edition was fun, friendly and colourful as was the greeting that met visitors at the entrance, with a fruity Haru stuck on design installation created by artist Aurelie Andres. Interestingly the Baltic states were well represented amongst the strong contingent of creative and sophisticated kid’s fashion and design on show. We take a look at some of the collections and products at the show. Continue Reading
