Show Report: Playtime Paris #24 SS19

July 9, 2018
Bobo choses - Playtime Paris #24 show report

The 24th edition of Playtime Paris was an expansive show with a large range of new and existing brands to try and see. Whilst the show was jam packed with some great collections it was also incredibly hot! Playtime Paris #24 saw an increase in super stands, super strong lifestyle sections and quality marketing gestures making for super brand awareness.

For this report we look at the Coming to America seminar, the balance between a no picture policy and immediacy of collection awareness, plus we share some Pirouette #CoupDeCoeur from the show.

Screen Capture: Modern Beauty?

June 17, 2018
Screen capture exhibition. Modern Beauty? at Playtime Paris.

Pirouette returns to Playtime Paris to curate the second edition of the Screen Capture series. This time the exhibition explores the theme of Modern Beauty.

Beauty… physical, nature, behaviour, in a world where we can now add a filter, instantly display our like or dislike, and add our comment. We ask a group of illustrators to join the Screen Capture exhibition in exploring the theme of ‘Modern Beauty’ by creating an original piece of work for showing at Playtime Paris. Open to the artist’s interpretation with no interference by Pirouette, the resulting artwork seems reassuringly gentle.  Continue Reading

Store Collaboration: Smallable x Isetan – East meets West in Tokyo & Paris

March 12, 2018
Smallable x Isetan Pop-Up collaboration

It’s wonderful to see French concept-store Smallable and Japanese department store Isetan join forces to promote the best of Japanese and European children’s fashion. Starting March the 14th and running until April the 4th, 2018 Isetan will welcome
a Smallable pop-up shop in its department store, while Smallable will host Isetan and Japanese fashion know-how in both its Parisian boutique and on-line store. I love a foreign exchange trip, so is this sort of collaboration the future for retail? What will we find at each store?

Playtime Paris #23 more than a trade show, socially conscious & creative!

January 25, 2018

For this edition #23 commencing Saturday the 27th of January at the Parc Floral de Paris Playtime Paris embraces the theme of mutation ‘changeover’. Throughout the three days there will be over 540 brands to discover, including 100 new exhibitors. Paris City Guide for Families: URBANITO

May 22, 2017
Urbanito Paris city guide

Planning a trip to Paris this Summer en famille ? if it’s a yes then the URBANITO Paris Family City Guide would be a very useful travelling companion. This well conceived guide is aimed at making France’s capital city a fun, cultured and stress free experience with the kids. It does this by providing the parents with travelling advice, places to visit, eat and look at, all from city insiders suggestions. A favourite touch is that on every map nearby WC’s are marked so to be located quickly, sparing children and parents undue stress related red faces. The guide is brilliantly designed, and contains lots of interesting info, so let’s have a look and find out where we can pick one up.

Pirouette One to Watch Winners: Playtime Paris

February 6, 2017
playtime paris awards : winners - Bonjour Lulaland

Playtime Paris had over 500 labels exhibiting this time round so finding the Pirouette One to Watch winners took a bit of footwork, but boy was it worth it. It’s important to say how impressed we were with the brands in the ‘New Now’ space, the emerging talent in this section was really great to see with each label exhibiting their own unique selling points. It was a shame not to have more awards to give out.

Following our London winners here are our Pirouette One to Watch winners from Playtime Paris ‘Children’s Fashion & Accessories’ and ‘Children’s Design’ …  (next stop New York) Continue Reading

Olive in her Sunday Best, wearing authentic 70s shirt and 80’s hairslide from Porte de Clignancourt, Paris. Denim shorts from Pop Up Shop, lame leggings from Wild.
The photograph for me is all about Olive taking her great grandmas heirloom handbag out for the very first time and knowing that she is holding something
to treasure” comments Ashlyn, her mother.

Olive reminds me of Annabel Cotton interpretated by Mia Wasikowska in Restless, the Gus Van Sant movie. In every scene, Annabel appears in the most delicious outfits.
