Petra Barkhof children’s fashion stylist & editor today releases her second edition of Scimparello Magazine. Going back in time to a very very hot August in NYC what a pleasure to share the Big Apple experience with Petra and gang.
We worked a lot, moaned about the heat a lot, laughed, danced and sang a lot. It’s all a balance. Petra tells us all about what she got up to this summer…
Day 1 at Pitti Bimbo 87 includes an interview with the buying team from Childrensalon. We have coverage of The ‘Children’s Fashion from Spain’ catwalk show. Plus we chat to the effervescent Petra Barkhof from Kidswear magazine about the launch of her new Scimparello magazine. In the evening we talk to Piero Iacomoni, President of Italian label Monnalisa whilst enjoying their beautiful garden party in the heart of Florence.
A very Happy New Year to everybody! As we move on from 2017 into 2018, we take a look back at some of Pirouette’s articles from the past year.
Pirouette 10 questions game:
Q&A between 2 players – 5 questions & 5 answers each. Both players are interviewer and interviewee. This time with Petra Barkhof (P), of Scimparello and deputy editor & digital director Kid’s Wear Magazine invites Adele Gandola (A) creative mind & distributor of Péro to ask her 5 questions then answer 5 of her own. Let’s go!
On Monday the 9th of January kid’s wear magazine will launch a new magazine dedicated to the world of design for children, lifestyle, toys and accessories. We do our very best to squeeze a little more information and a sneak preview from the editors Petra Barkhof & Ann-Katrin Weiner.

Thanks to Petra Barkhof – studiopep
Petra Barkhof runs a creative factory based in Milan called studiopep. The studio creates stories from concept to photo production, working with art directors, photographers, hair& make up and stylists. For Petra, it’s like being the head of a large family. Studiopep is the editorial office of kid’s wear magazine in Italy, and a regular collaborator of Italian magazine Style Piccoli. Although Studiopep is specialized in childrens fashion, it also does a lot of [gorgeous] interiors. That keeps the family very very busy…
