British Brand of children’s wellingtons, accessories and outerwear ‘Grass & Air’ will be making their debut at Playtime Paris this January. Having already established a firm foothold in the UK market with stockists including Liberty and independents such as Monkey McCoy to the go-to on-line store Kidly they now feel it’s time to explore bigger international puddles. So we find out a bit more about why Grass & Air are so ‘stockable’!
Grass & Air is a subsidiary company with the parental unit specialising in school uniforms supply. The knowledge and production expertise gained from this experience is evident in the development of their products. Take the colour revealing design motifs that actually change colour, this technology is not often seen in boots because the wellington needs to be stretched in the process putting strain on the motifs. However with painstaking dedication and much testing they have produced this with near perfect quality control.
The design is not over the top – focusing key trend based colours to form a backdrop to the fun and engaging technology. All the boots are fleece lined whilst the price point means it easy to see why these wellies have been running out the door.
This time Grass & Air will be debuting the new light sensitive range at Playtime. Instead of the sweet deconstructed cloud & colourful rain drops we find a retro ice cream motif meaning in order to activate jumping in sunnier spots maybe required. As well as the new range Grass & Air will be introducing the Playtime visitors to their fun colour changing umbrellas and their wet weather outwear – designed to last.
We love the photography – the result of the PR team wanting to do something different to the usual kids jumping around in puddles. Bright, bold with a scatter of humour. It proves that sometimes it’s worth pushing for an aesthetic to excite and engage the retailer, press and end consumer alike.
Grass & Air wellingtons speak to the design loving, practical minded parent. These engaging products encourage the child to play and get mucky in comfort – all without breaking the bank. Interestingly for retailers they have no minimums.
Grass & Air
Grass and Air will be exhibiting in the ‘New Now’ Space at Playtime Paris – 25-27 January 2020.
Pop in and say Bonjour!

Editors Notes: The baby pink and blue versions of the wellingtons sell really well in Scotland, it seems the bonnie Scots can’t get enough of them. I’ve not been aware of wee* ones dressed head to toe in baby pink and blue but now I’m aware I’m bound to spot them everywhere!
*wee = Scottish for little
