Live art piece by fashion illustrator Chris Gambrell
Playtime Paris #26 Sat, 29 June – Mon, 1 July 2019. Parc Floral de Paris
DAY 1 - Time-lapse video
DAY 2 - Time-lapse video
For this edition of the Screen Capture exhibition Pirouette invites fashion illustrator Chris Gambrell to explore the metamorphosis from ‘child to fashionista’ through an Iris Apfel quote by producing a live art piece taking place over the first two days of the Paris show.
“Fashion you can buy, but style you possess. The key to style is learning who you are, which takes years. There’s no how-to road map to style. It’s about self-expression and, above all, attitude.”

Chris will intervene in Pirouette’s usual Screen Capture space transforming the walls and floor from blank canvas to final art piece taking inspiration gathered from the exhibiting brands, designers, collections and visitors.

Concept
The exhibition starts with only the quote from Iris Apfel as the starting point. Chris will explore the quote and this edition’s theme of ‘metamorphosis’ by creating a live artwork during the first two days of the show.
The metamorphosis of the space will create an event within the Playtime show. During the exhibition, Chris will be out and about talking to people and scouting for inspiration to integrate into his artwork.
A time-lapse camera will document the metamorphosis taking place and will be available on Pirouette and the Playtime Paris website.
