When I ask, in my interviews, what city they dream to visit, kids very often answer New York (parents too!). From a very young age children will immediately connect with the city which never sleeps. Skyscrapers, lights, blue sky, giant streets, yellow cabs; so many attractive things in the Big Apple…
Here’s what the children said coming back from our last trip there :
What NY has that London doesn’t…
Big blue chewing gums (that one can buy in delis at any hour of the day and night)
Yellow taxis
Giant video screens
Horse carriages
Carrousels
The naked Cow Boy (he really is naked with just his boots, underwear, hat and guitar)
Water towers on the building roofs
Hot dog carts
Dog walkers with lots and lots of dogs
Rubbish on the floor
Lots of skyscrapers
AC in cabs and in the subway
Water Parks with sprinkles
Crazy ice cream flavours (Birthday cake, superman, monster crunch, garbage can, etc)
“The Swarss” (FAO Schwarz)
